Kwara State has emerged as a shining example in the Federal Government’s ambitious 3 Million Tech Talents’ (3MTT) campaign, with commendations pouring in for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s unwavering support for the programme. The state recently celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of 3MTT trainees and the launch of the Kwara Digital Economy platform, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards digital transformation.

Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister for Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, lauded the governor’s dedication to grooming tech talents, describing the state’s support for the initiative as “amazingly huge”. He praised the strategic leadership of Governor AbdulRazaq and the effective coordination by Hon. Ishola Kayode, Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Innovation, in driving the success of the programme.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony in Ilorin, Dr. Tijani emphasized the importance of capacity building in driving digital transformation and innovation. He highlighted the pivotal role of Kwara State in spearheading the 3MTT initiative, noting the significant progress made in nurturing tech talents and fostering a conducive environment for digital entrepreneurship.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, represented by Senior Advisor Alhaji Sa’adu Salau, underscored the administration’s commitment to transforming Kwara into a digital economy hub. He lauded the graduates for their dedication and urged them to leverage the skills acquired to drive innovation and economic growth in the state.

The event, themed “Harnessing the Unlimited Potentials of the Digital Economy”, featured panel discussions and presentations highlighting the transformative power of technology in driving socio-economic development.

State Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, highlighted the administration’s efforts in fostering a culture of innovation and supporting tech programmes. She emphasized the importance of nurturing tech talents and creating opportunities for aspiring professionals in the digital space.

Engr. Taofeek Abdulkareem, CEO of Plat Technologies, urged the graduates to embrace a digital mindset and continue to innovate in the rapidly evolving tech landscape. He emphasized the importance of adaptability and perseverance in navigating the challenges of digital transformation.

Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Innovation, Ishola Kayode, reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting tech initiatives and empowering young talents. He highlighted the various measures taken to facilitate the success of the 3MTT programme, including the provision of laptops, internet access, and rewards for outstanding participants.
